GOLF IN SCHOOLS - WHY?
Golf is one of the most fun, challenging, and healthy games to play. It’s great for getting outdoors, meeting people, and staying healthy. Golf is indeed the great equalizer unlike many team sports such as football or basketball. A child may be interested in playing some games but he or she may not be tall or strong enough. Girls and boys can play golf equally well since it’s a game that rewards strength and skill more than most. Golf is indeed a sport for a lifetime, for many.
In School Golf provides educators with a curriculum consisting of 15 lesson plans. Each plan provides hands-on “fun” golf content as well as instructional videos. A teacher does not have to play golf to teach the program. In School Golf gets kids swinging right from the start, providing them immediate “digital” feedback with a radar measurement tool to track and reinforce their skill improvement.
SUPPORT The In School Golf Association offers their 15 lesson plan manual, along with other useful materials to provide the teacher and student a unique learning experience. These include “Tips for Teachers,” a double sided laminated a quick reference guide for the instructor as well as assessment criteria.
