Sponsored by the Rockland County Department of Health, the East Ramapo Central School District’s Teachers Center, Harrisburg University and Fizika Group, the Institute featured opening presentations by Carrie Steindorff, School Health Coordinator at the Rockland County Department of Health and Dr. Nana Koch, Chair, Health, Physical Education and Movement Science, Long Island University.

The course was included in the grant budget for East Ramapo Central District because of Carrie’s positive experience when she took the course in 2014:  “The Active Learning Specialist course provides insight into how best to use physical activity in school to help kids learn and move more, as well as bridge the gap between public health and education.” Carrie Steindorff at the computer
